The wait is over.

There is a heartbeat. The doc said it was nice and strong but didn't count the bpm. I'm pretty relieved right now. I'm measuring 6w1d and flipper is measuring 5 mm, I'm good with that.

The semi-bad news is that there is visible blood just outside the gestational sack. It's small and the doctor doesn't seem to be concerned. I tried to google for some info but couldn't find much. I'd appreciate any info that you ladies have about it.

I've not been able to sleep very well for the past few nights even though I'm tired as hell. I think I'll be able to sleep tonight. I go back next Wednesday for another u/s.

I'm pretty happy/relieved/tired right now. Right after the u/s, I just cried and cried. It was a good cry though. I was so happy and it was such an emotional time. I know the war has just begun, but at least we won this battle.

Now, I have to go and catch up with all you dames.

Ahhh!!!! Hurray! As usual, I have no info to provide re: blood outside the gestational sack since I have never been with child. Nonetheless, I am absolutely thrilled for you.

That's awesome. So glad you could have tears of joy instead of the usual tears that go with IF.

Yay for the heartbeat! So glad you got to see it. I can't help with the blood issue, I hope it's just nothing and normal.

So can I shout congratulations now?!!!!! Awesome news. And I've heard of the blood outside the sack - a friend had it and delivered a healthy baby. She did have several bleeding scares (meaning she was petrified because she was bleeding not because the bleeding was doing anything bad to the baby) but all was well.

    Fingers crossed for you!! Yippee!!

Glad there is a heartbeat. A girl on my board had bleeding outside the sack this early (she was an IUI girl) - she is 36 weeks now.

What great news about the heartbeat! Congratulations!

I hope the blood thing is nothing to worry about--if the docs aren't worried, then I take that as a good sign (kind of like watching the stewardesses on the plane--I don't freak out until they do).

    Best of luck to you!

Congratulations on the heartbeat! I don't have any info on the blood - is it a subchorionic hematoma?

That is awesome news! Congratulations on the heartbeat!!

You might try googling subchorionic hematoma (or subchorionic bleeding) about the little amount of blood. It is fairly common and usually resolves itself... especially if its small.
